At least seven people were wounded after a bomb exploded at President Ashraf Ghani’s election campaign office in southern Helmand province on Wednesday, hospital officials said.
The office, located in Police District 1 of provincial capital Lashkargah, is headed by Member of Parliament Ghulam Wali.
Omar Zwak, a spokesman for provincial governor, said that three people were wounded in the bombing.
Emergency Hospital in the city, however, said that seven people, all civilians, had been admitted to hospital from the incident.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
It comes a day after another campaign office of Ghani, located in Kandahar city, was targeted bomb, as a result of which four civilians including a journalist were killed.
Afghanistan’s presidential election is scheduled to be held on coming Saturday.
