An American soldier died in a non-combat related incident in southern Afghanistan, US Department of Defense said on Monday.
The 24-year-old soldier, identified as Joseph Trent Allbaugh, died on Sunday in Kandahar province, according to a statement from the Pentagon.
The incident is under investigation, the statement said.
The incident comes just over a week after a US soldier was killed in a vehicle rollover accident in Afghanistan’s western Farah province.
