Seven civilians were wounded when an explosion went off in Afghanistan’s southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, police said.
The blast was triggered by explosive-laden motorbike at the main market of Spin Boldak district, said Jamal Barekzai, a spokesman for provincial police.
The target of the blast was apparently Zalmay, a brother of a former police official in Kandahar, but he was not hurt, Barekzai said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
Separately, police in western Herat province said on Wednesday that they had prevented an attack by discovering a bomb in an area between Zindajan and Ghoryan districts.
