Afghanistan’s Electoral Complaints Commission said on Sunday it received 2,275 complaints about Saturday’s presidential vote.
The complaints were registered in 22 categories with most of them being about voter lists.
ECC spokesman Mohammad Qasim Elyasi said that 877 complaints were received from Kabul. Herat, JowzjanTakhar were next provinces with large number of complaints.
He said that the number of complaints could rise as ECC will continue to receive until tomorrow 5:00p.m.
Earlier on Saturday, ECC said that complaints were about malfunctioning of biometric machines, late show up of IEC polling staff, challenges in voter lists, interference of power brokers in the election process, IEC staff supporting a candidate, late opening of polling centers, challenges in voting for armed force, absence of ECC staff in polling centers, challenges in voting for Kuchis, media access restriction in some polling centers and closure of some polling centers due to security concerns.
