Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Sunday that police had thoroughly investigated the case of Afghan ambassador’s daughter, Silsila Alikhel.
Khan said that he followed the case as if it was that of his daughter. “We consider the Afghan people as our brothers.”
He maintained that police had traced and interrogated the taxi drivers and obtained the videos from the Safe City cameras.
Earlier, Khan said that there was discrepancy in what Afghan envoy’s daughter says and what evidence shows.
“Unfortunately, what the ambassador’s daughter is saying and what the cameras show do not add up. She says she was put in a taxi, taken away and beaten up. But there is a picture of that taxi and she is sitting there and she is fine,” Khan said.
Afghan Foreign Ministry, however, has said that medical reports and other evidences show that Silsila was abducted and tortured.
The ministry said that an Afghan government delegation would travel to Pakistan for joint investigation and to share information regarding the case.
