The US military said on Tuesday between two and six percent of the process of its withdrawal from Afghanistan had been completed so far.
The US began withdrawing from Afghanistan on Saturday. The process is expected to be completed by September 11.
The US Central Command in a statement said that since Biden’s announcement of withdrawal decision in mid-April, the US had retrograded the equivalent of approximately 60 C-17 loads of material out of Afghanistan and had turned over more than 1,300 pieces of equipment for destruction.
The US has officially handed over to the Afghan army one facility which is New Antonik in Helmand province.
CENTCOM said it would provide weekly updates on the progress of the retrograde.
