Russia and Pakistan have agreed to help Afghanistan create inclusive power structures, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday after talks with his Pakistani counterpart in Islamabad.
“We have agreed to further contribute to creating conditions to ensure that the conflicting sides achieve constructive solutions, which will allow them to end the civil war in Afghanistan through the agreements on forming inclusive power structures,” Lavrov said as quoted by Russia’s TASS news agency.
The diplomat also said that Russia and Pakistan are concerned about deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan. He said that IS terrorist activities were rising in north and east of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Qureshi said that today Russia and Pakistan see eye-to-eye on a lot of issues that are discussed in Afghanistan. He said there is a very good cooperation taking place on Afghan peace.
