Kabul police arrested an 11-member Taliban cell behind the killing of former TV presenter Yama Siawash, Afghan First Vice President Amrullah Saleh said Wednesday.
Siawash, who formerly worked at the private TOLO News channel, was killed when the vehicle carrying him was bombed in Kabul in November last year. He was media adviser for the central bank at the time of his death.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack which killed also two other central bank employees.
VP Saleh said that the busted Taliban cell was responsible also for other bombings. He said that dozens of sticky bombs and IEDs were found in their caches.
“We hv invited media community, human rights organizations, civil society activists & advocacy groups to see the files, interview the terrorists & fulfill the wish of the grieving families – RAISE IT AT INTERNATIONAL FORUMS to expose the terrorist Taliban,” Saleh said on Twitter.
