Kabul will be declared as capital of Islamic culture for 2024, Afghan acting minister of information and culture has said.
Earlier, Afghanistan’s south-eastern city of Ghazni was declared the capital of Islamic culture for 2013.
Acting minister of information and culture, Tahir Zuhair, who was speaking at a meeting of cultural committee headed by second VP , said that preparation was underway for declaration of Kabul as capital of Islamic culture.
He said that a large national library, a national archive and a cultural center will be established in the capital, according to a statement issued by the VP’s office.
He also said that as per the president’s instruction, the cultural zone of the capital should be determined first.
