The Turkey conference on Afghanistan peace will begin on April 16, sources told 1TV on Saturday.
The conference is expected to last 10 days.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a letter to President Ashraf Ghani last month made a new urgent push for a United Nations-led peace effort and asked Turkey to host a senior-level meeting of “both sides in the coming weeks to finalize a peace agreement.”
Meanwhile, US special envoy is on a visit to Kabul where he is expected to discuss the upcoming Turkey conference with political leaders.
Seven political parties, including Jamiat-e-Islami, Hizb-e-Islami, Wahdat-e-Islami and Junbish-e-Milli, in a statement have welcomed the upcoming Turkey on Afghanistan, hoping it will find a solution to end war in the country.
