The United States is ready to build four oxygen producing plants in four zones of Afghanistan within the next two months, its Charge d’Affaires Ross Wilson said on Tuesday.
Wilson made the remarks during a virtual meeting with Afghan Public Health Minister Javad Ahmad Osmani.
During the meeting, the sides discussed fight against coronavirus and provision and administration of vaccines in Afghanistan.
Minister Osmani said that the vaccines will be administered initially on people with higher vulnerabilities.
On the ministry’s plans and performances in the fight against coronavirus, Osmani said that it has centers for treatment of patients suffering from the disease in hospitals in Kabul and provinces. He also said that five committees to fight coronavirus have been established, hospitals have received more equipment and more testing laboratories have been set up.
The minister also called for USAID projects planned before the pandemic to be readjusted to address the current situation.
