An Afghan journalist was killed after a magnetic bomb struck his vehicle in southern Helmand province on Thursday.
Mohammad Elyas Dayee, who worked with Radio Azadi, was killed in the provincial capital, Lashkargah, said Zainullah Stanikzai, head of journalists union in Helmand.
Radio Azadi also confirmed death of Dayee, saying three others were also wounded in the explosion.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
President Ashraf Ghani condemned the attack and said that terrorist groups cannot suppress journalists’ voices and freedom of speech.
The attack comes five days after Yama Siawash, a former TV presenter who was working with the central bank, was killed in a bomb blast in Kabul.
