Afghanistan’s health ministry on Monday reported 138 new cases of coronavirus and 12 deaths attributed to it over the past 24 hours.
The new cases were found from 594 samples that were tested for the virus during the period.
263 coronavirus patients recovered from the disease during the past 24 hours.
Afghanistan has so far registered 42,297 coronavirus cases since the outbreak began in February.
The country has already passed its peak, but officials are warning that coronavirus cases could increase as the weather gets cold during the winter.
Increased air pollution during the winter could also cause more coronavirus cases during the winter, according to officials.
