Turkish Airlines has suspended flights from Afghanistan as travelers present fake negative coronavirus test results, officials said on Wednesday.
At least five hospitals and laboratories in Kabul have been found to be issuing fake coronavirus test certificates, according to an official letter from Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority.
The health facilities have already got licenses from Public Health Ministry to carry out coronavirus testing.
The Civil Aviation Authority said that henceforth coronavirus test certificates from these health facilities will not be accepted.
Some travel agencies also said that they have seen passengers who presented negative coronavirus test results but later tested positive for the disease in their destination.
They said that coronavirus testing cost has also doubled.
