At least 10 Afghan forces were killed in Taliban attacks in Kunduz and Kapisa province on Saturday night, hours after peace talks begun in Qatari capital Doha.
Militants attacked a security checkpoint in Police District 2 of Kunduz city, as a result of which five local police were killed and four others were wounded, said Esmatullah Muradi, a spokesman for provincial governor.
He said that 10 insurgents were killed and six others were wounded in the counterattack.
Meanwhile, in Kapisa province, militants launched an attack in Tagab district, killing five security forces including head of crime department in the district and wounding seven others, a security source told 1TV.
In Kunduz, Afghan forces killed three Taliban militants and wounded two others in operations in Imam Sahib district, Muradi said.
