The United Arab Emirates on Monday unveiled plan to issue first multi-entry five-year tourist visa to all nationalities.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, said the visa would allow tourists multiple entries into the country over five years.
It is not clear if there will be a visa application fee and no other details have been released.
Previously, tourists could visit the UAE with a free multiple entry visa for up to 90 days, from the date of entry.
The new visa scheme will take effect within the next four months.
With the move, UAE aims to establish itself as a “major global tourism destination” and it is part of a wider plans to prepare the country for the next 50 years of development, according to its PM.
Currently, UAE welcomes about 21 million visitors each year.
