Kabul residents are facing increased power outages and officials blame distribution to provinces for the problem.
Power outages increase during winter and summer peaks, when demand for electricity increases for heating and cooling.
However, as summer is coming to an end, power outages remain high.
Officials say that the level of power outages in Kabul city is at 60 percent.
Abdul Ahmad Barekzai, head of power utility for Kabul, said that the reason behind long power outages in Kabul is distribution of part of the electricity it was getting to 11 provinces.
Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir, Nangarhar, Laghman, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Logar, Paktia and Khost are provinces which are getting electricity previously meant for Kabul.
Of 300 megawatts of imported electricity, only 100 megawatts are supplied to residents in Kabul city. 50 megawatts go to government institution while 120 megawatts are supplied to industrial parks.
Mirwais Alami, former head of power utility Breshna, said that efforts to increase power supply are slow while distribution to provinces is fast.
