Flash floods caused by heavy rains have left at least 151 people dead in Afghanistan, officials said on Thursday.
Nearly 200 others have been injured in the floods which happened in 13 provinces of the country since Tuesday evening, said Qasim Haidari, deputy state minister for disaster management.
Parwan, Kabul, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Panjshir, Nangarhar, Logar, Paktia, Paktika, Nuristan, Laghman and Khost are the provinces which have been hit by flooding.
A total of 200 homes were completely destroyed while 600 livestock died.
Most of the casualties have happened in Parwan,where there have been between 85 and 100 deaths. Kabul followed with 19 deaths.
Haidari said that search and rescue operations were ongoing in some provinces including Parwan and Kapisa.
