Ashraf Ghani has secured a second term in office after winning the presidential election with 50.64 percent of votes, final results showed on Tuesday.
A total of 1,823,948 votes were considered to be valid in the election, IEC chief Hawa Alam Nuristani said at a press conference.
Ghani won 923,592 votes (50.64%).
His main challenger Abdullah won 720,841 votes (39.52%).
Gulbudin Hekmatyar won 70,241 votes (3.85%).
