Six people have been arrested for seeking to poison Afghan forces in southern province of Kandahar, provincial governor said.
Some of those arrested said that they had been trained in Pakistan and had been arrested by Afghan forces while returning to Afghanistan.
Kandahar Governor Hayatullah Hayat said that four cells including 19 members were also arrested in encounter with Afghan forces.
He said that they were involved in abducting tribal elders and planting mines in Kandahar.
Attacking Afghan forces using poison has rarely happened.
Local officials didn’t make clear if those arrested for seeking to poison Afghan forces were Daesh or Taliban members.
