Afghanistan’s Independent Election Commission on Wednesday decided to stop partial recount process.
IEC had started recounting of votes from more than 8,000 polling stations last week, but the process was boycotted by several candidates who cited fraud concerns.
IEC said on Wednesday that recount was finished in 994 polling station, but it didn’t start in 10 provinces.
The commission decided that the process should be stopped to address the concerns of political parties, candidates and civil society institutions.
