At least seven people were killed when a car bomb exploded in Afghan capital Kabul on Wednesday, the interior ministry said.
Ten others were wounded in the blast which happened in Police District 7 of the city around 7:25a.m., said Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for interior ministry. The blast site is near the interior ministry.
The explosives had been placed in a Townace van. The target of the blast was a vehicle of foregin security company named World Guard, the ministry said.
Four employees of the company were among those injured. Casualties from the blast included also children, it said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
It comes a day after Afghan government said that it would release two senior Taliban commanders and Anas Haqqani, a leader of the Haqqani militant group in exchange for an American and an Australian professor who were kidnapped in 2016.
