At least 13 people, including one police officer, have been killed in anti-government protests in Iran, media reported.
The protests which started six days ago in different cities of Iran have put pressure on the clerical leadership which took over following the 1979 revolution.
On Monday, Iranian protesters attacked police stations, and the resulting clashes left several casualties.
Hundreds of demonstrators have been arrested during the protests which have been organized against economic hardships and alleged corruption. Protesters also want their leaders to create jobs instead of engaging in costly proxy wars.
“The government will show no tolerance for those who damage public property, violate public order and create unrest in society,” President Hassan Rouhani said in an address on Sunday.
The government said it was temporarily restricting access to the Telegram messaging app and Instagram. There were also reports of internet blockage in some areas.
