IEC commissioner Mawlana Mohammad Abdullah said that 25,000 biometric verification devices were used during the Election Day.
Data from 14,000 biometric verification devices have been transferred to the main server of the Independent Election Commission, its member said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, IEC officials said that tallying of votes was ongoing, with votes from Kabul being tallied first.
Habibur Rahman Nang, head of IEC secretariat, said that ballot boxes from two provinces, including Parwan and Panjsher, had reached at the commission’s headquarter.
He said that boxes from the all the remaining provinces would reach by coming Saturday.
According to the official, ballot boxes had been transferred from all districts to provincial capitals.
Nearly 2.6 million votes were recorded in Saturday’s presidential election, according to IEC.
Preliminary results from the vote are scheduled to be announced on October 19.
