Afghan electricity company Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat said on Tuesday it had referred more than 100 major bill defaulters to the Attorney General’s Office.
Amanullah Ghalib, head of DABS, said that the defaulters introduced to AGO owe more than one million afghanis each.
He said that members of parliament, commanders and governors are among those introduced to AGO.
Afghanistan is largely reliant on foreign imports to meet its demand for electricity, but bill defaulting is a major problem in the country.

The transmission lines are vulnerable to attacks and DABS said that they were considering a plan for security of power pylons.
DABS’ Ghalib said that NATO had pledged to cooperate in securing the pylons.
