Afghan forces have reclaimed control of Jaghatu district in central-eastern Ghazni province after two years, officials said on Saturday.
The Defense Ministry said in a statement Jaghatu district was cleared of Taliban militants as part of Operation Mobeen, involving air forces.
As a result of the operation, other districts in Ghazni including Malistan, Jaghori, Arjistan and Nawor have now regained access to the provincial capital.
The statement said that details of losses sustained by the terrorists would be shared later.
The Taliban, however, said that Jaghatu district was still under their control.
