Afghan President Ashraf Ghani spoke with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan late on Wednesday, urging him to cooperate in reducing violence during Afghan presidential election due to be held next week.
During the call, Ghani noted Pakistan’s role in reducing violence during the previous election in the country, a statement from Afghan presidential palace said.
For his part, Pakistan’s Khan expressed condolences over Tuesday’s attacks in Afghanistan’s Kabul and Parwan and pledged that his country would make efforts and cooperate in holding election in Afghanistan.
The sides discussed also peace process, which is stalled after US President Donald Trump declared talks with the Taliban as dead.
