At least 15 people were killed when a car bomb exploded in Afghanistan’s southern Zabul province on Thursday, officials said.
Sixty-six others were wounded in the blast which happened in Zabul capital Qalat city.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack saying the target of provincial headquarters of intelligence agency National Directorate of Security.
Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for Interior Ministry, said that the attack struck a civilian hospital.
He said that 15 people who were killed in the attack included 13 civilians and two police. Women and children were among those injured.
The attack comes amid stepped up violence across the country ahead of presidential election next week.
