At least 22 people were killed when a suicide bomb exploded in Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday, officials said.
Thirty-eight others were wounded in the blast which happened near Massoud Square in Police District 9 of the city, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The deaths included six security forces and 16 civilians. Those injured were all civilians, the statement said.
Women and children were among casualties, it said.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
Earlier in the day, a Taliban suicide bomber killed 24 people near President Ashraf Ghani’s election rally in central Parwan province.
