Afghan forces have arrested Taliban’s shadow governor for Kabul’s Kalakan district in a raid in the capital, officials said on Monday.
Sardar Mohammad was arrested in a raid by special forces of intelligence agency National Directorate of Security in Police District 8 of the city, NDS said in a statement.
Three of his aides were also arrested in the operation. They were identified as Sher Padshah, Malik and Hasibullah, who were involved in terrorist activities including firing rocket on Bagram airfield, banditry, disturbing people and extortion, according to the statement.
NDS said that Sardar Mohammad had previously acted as Taliban shadow governor for Kabul’s Mirbacha Kot district, before he was recalled to Pakistan’s Peshawar where he was instructed to increase attacks and was appointed as the group’s governor for Kalakan district.
