Taliban militants have taken control of Darqad district in Afghanistan’s northern Takhar province, second district to fall in hours, an official said on Tuesday.
The fall of the district was confirmed by provincial governor’s spokesman Jawad Hijri.
The news of Darqad’s fall comes hours after Taliban took control of Yangi Qala district in the same province.
