Six Afghan journalists have been abducted in east of the country, officials confirmed Saturday.
They were travelling from Paktika to Paktia province when they were stopped by unknown gunmen in Zurmat district of Paktia province on Friday, said Shah Mohammad Arian, a spokesman for Paktika police. The journalists were expected to participate in atraining workshop.
The victims were national broadcaster RTA’s Tariq Zaki, Radio Kilid’s Khairuddin Zaki, Radio Yaran’s head Asadullah Samim, Radio Melma’s Elham, Radio Yaran’s Wahab and Radio Pakhtun Ghag’s Rauf Zaheen.
Pakita governor’s office said that the journalists were abducted by Taliban.
