Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by 85 runs in their first match of Under-19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka on Thursday.
Sent to bat first by Pakistanis who won the toss, Afghans posted 162-9 after 46 in a match in Colombo that was delayed by rain.
Pakistan were bowled out on 78 (19.4) overs.
Afghanistan’s Shafiqullah Ghafari was declared man of the match as he picked up three wickets. Fazal Haq, Obaidullah Taniwal and Noor Ahmad claimed two wickets each.
Sediqullah Atal was top scorer for Afghanistan with his 29, followed by Rahmanullah who made 27.
For Pakistan, Irfan Khan (19) and Rohail Nazir (16) were their only double digit scorers.
Afghanistan will next face Kuwait in their next match of the tournament on Saturday.
