Coronavirus positivity rate has declined to 15 percent in Afghanistan, the country’s acting public health minister said on Thursday.
Ahmad Javad Osmani said that recovery cases have also increased to 71 percent in the country.
He said that there were 9,000 active cases of coronavirus in Afghanistan.
Referring to a grand assembly or Loya Jirga that was held in Kabul over the weekend to decide the fate of 400 Taliban prisoners, Osmani said that of 5,120 tests that were carried out, 31 (1 percent) came back as positive.
He said that those who had coronavirus were under surveillance.
Meanwhile, Acting Education Minister Rangina Hamidi said that schools will reopen on 22nd August. She said that wearing masks in schools was a must.
