Taliban shadow governor for Afghanistan’s northern Baghlan province and 45 other militants were killed in airstrikes last night, the country’s defense ministry said on Thursday.
Taliban shadow governor for Baghlan Obaidullah was killed in airstrikes in provincial capital city, Pul-i-Khumri city, the ministry said in a statement.
Taliban rejected the claim, saying their governor for Baghlan is in good health and is leading the battlefronts.
Taliban fighters launched their attack on Pul-i-Khumri city on Sunday, their second assault on a provincial capital in two days. The previous attack was on Kunduz city.
