An Afghan army helicopter has crashed in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province, killing its pilot, a source told 1TV on Monday.
The helicopter of Black Hawk type crashed in Kajaki district. Other crew members survived the incident, the source said.
The helicopter crashed after it was shot down, according to the source.
Taliban spokesman Qari Yosuf Ahmadi said that the helicopter was shot down by the group’s fighters.
The Ministry of Defense, however, in a statement said that the crash happened due to technical issue and that five people aboard were injured.
