Administrative deputy of police chief in Kapisa province was killed in a militant ambush on the outskirts of Kabul on Saturday, police said.
The official was killed as the vehicle he was travelling in came under fire around 7:20 a.m. in Kalakan district of Kabul, according to Kabul police.
Another personnel of Kapisa police was also killed in the attack. Civilian deputy of provincial police, Mustafa Kohistani, was injured.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
