A bomb blast killed police chief of a district in Afghanistan’s eastern Paktika province on Saturday, second district police chief to be killed in the country in one day.
Bakhtyar Gul Hemat, head of Paktika provincial council, told 1TV that Darya khan Talash, police chief of Surobi district, was killed by bomb while he was on his way to defend a security checkpoint that had come under attack by militants.
He said that three of his guards were also killed in the bombing.
The incident happened hours after another district police chief was killed in southern Zabul province.
Sahib Jan, police chief of Naw Bahar district, was also killed in a roadside bombing, according to local officials.
