An Afghan presidential guard has been found dead in a river in central Bamyan province, an official said on Wednesday.
Latif Azimi, a spokesman for provincial governor, told 1TV that the body of the guard, identified as Aziz Ahmad Alimyar, was discovered by police in a river in Pay Mori area of Shibar district on Tuesday.
He said that the body was dispatched to Kabul for forensic investigation.
The presidency said that the guard was in his hometown to spend holiday. It said that the guard drowned while swimming.
Earlier in April, another presidential guard was shot and killed in the outskirts of capital Kabul.
