A 13-year-old child suicide bomber who was forced to carry out a suicide attack by the Taliban militants surrendered himself to the police in Afghanistan’s northern Kunduz province.
The child, identified as Syed Mukhtar, threw his suicide vest into river before surrendering himself, a spokesman for provincial police said.
The child said that his father was a commando who was killed by Taliban militants.
He said that two of his brothers carried out suicide attacks in capital Kabul on Taliban orders.
Police said that the child had been receiving training on suicide attacks in Chardara district of Kunduz for five years.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid rejected the news.
Tariq Aryan, a spokesman for Interior Ministry, said use of children in conflict was a crime.
The Independent Human Rights Commission urged parties to the conflict to respect children’s rights and refrain from using them in combats.
