Six Afghan soldiers were killed when Taliban militants attacked an army post in northern Jowzjan province last night, the Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday.
Three other soldiers were wounded in the incident which happened in Bala Hisar area of Aqcha district, MoD said in a statement.
Taliban also suffered heavy casualties in the counterattack, the statement said without providing an exact figure.
Separately, 13 Taliban militants were killed in clash with police and premature bomb blast in Ghazni on Tuesday, officials said.
