At least 116 civilians were killed and injured in the Afghan conflict in the first 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan, a leading Afghan human rights group said on Thursday.
The figure includes 43 deaths and 73 injured, Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission said in a report.
Majority of the civilian casualties (68) were attributed to the Taliban, including 29 deaths and 39 injured.
Pro-government forces were responsible for 16 civilian casualties including one death and 15 injured.
Perpetrators of 32 civilian casualties (13 deaths and 19 injured) were not known, according to the report.
Casualties happened in Kabul, Ghazni, Logar, Kandahar, Paktia and Helmand.
AIHRC called on parties to the conflict to cease violence to respect Ramadan and due to coronavirus pandemic.
