A number of employees and doctors were beaten by unknown individuals in the provincial health department in eastern Paktia province over coronavirus test on Thursday.
The violence happened as the individuals were demanding the results of their coronavirus tests.
The incident was recorded on surveillance camera in the department.
Provincial health director, Wolayat Khan Ahmadzai, said that some security officials were also colluding with the attackers.
Meanwhile, provincial governor’s deputy, Abdul Wali Sahi, said that the incident will be investigated seriously.
Afghanistan has confirmed 2,171 cases of coronavirus and 64 deaths attributed to it.
