Afghanistan’s Public Health Ministry on confirmed 232 new coronavirus cases, the highest daily jump, raising the country’s total to 2,171.
The new cases were detected out of 581 samples tested in the past 24 hours, Deputy Health Minister Wahid Mahroh said at a press conference.
He also reported three new deaths from the virus including two in Herat and one in Kabul.
The country’s total deaths rose to 64. Of the country’s 2,171 total, 573 cases were recorded in Kabul, the most in any province.
More than three million people have been infected with coronavirus across the world, and there have been 228,394 deaths attributed to it.
