Pakistan is considering a complete closure of airspace to India and ban on use of its land routes for Indian trade with Afghanistan, a Pakistani minister said on Tuesday.
Pakistan’s Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that the matter was discussed during a cabinet meeting.
“PM is considering a complete closure of Air Space to India, a complete ban on use of Pakistan Land routes for Indian trade to Afghanistan was also suggested in cabinet meeting, legal formalities for these decisions are under consideration… Modi has started we‘ll finish!,” the minister tweeted.
Pakistan reopened its airspace to India in mid-July, having closed it in February after an attack by a Pakistan-based militant group in Indian-controlled Kashmir that led to clashes between the neighbours.
Bilateral tensions increased this month when Indian government revoked Kashmir’s special status.
