Dil Aqa, popularly known as Mamati Salang, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for destroying a power pylon last year, an official said Tuesday.
One of his accomplices was also given the same jail term, said Jamshed Rasooli, a spokesman for the Attorney General.
They were also ordered to pay 408,632,820 afghanis compensation, he said.
Mamati and two of his accomplices were arrested by intelligence forces after bombing an imported power pylon in southern Salang and demanding up to 100,000 US dollars.
The sentencing happened three weeks ago, according to Rasooli.
The sentencing is announced two days after a power pylon was destroyed by bomb in Mir Bacha Kot district of Kabul.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. Taliban denied involvement.
