At least 12 members of people’s uprising force have been killed in an attack by Taliban militants in Afghanistan’s western Herat province, officials said on Wednesday.
The attack in Chahar Dara village of Keshk Rubat Sangi district began on 12a.m. on Wednesday, triggering a clash which lasted two hours, said Abdul Ahad Walizada, a spokesman for provincial police.
He said that the insurgents fled after reinforcement forces were dispatched to the area.
The violence comes a day after the insurgents killed 10 members of people’s uprising force in Jowzjan province.
