Two doctors have tested positive for the coronavirus while eight more are awaiting their results, a source told 1TV on Saturday.
The doctors, working in Kunduz’s main hospital, have gone into self-quarantine and include also its chief medic.
The Public Health Ministry has confirmed death of three doctors so far from coronavirus, all happening in Kabul.
Meanwhile, some lawmakers representing Kunduz criticized lack of medical equipment in the province and accused the local government of negligence in the fight against coronavirus.
Provincial health director, Ihsanullah Fazli, admitted lack of medical equipment in Kunduz main hospital saying the issue was shared with the central government.
Afghanistan’s health ministry has registered 933 cases of coronavirus and 30 deaths in the country.
On Saturday, Minister Ferozuddin Feroz admitted that the capacity to carry out coronavirus tests was not adequate.
He also said that some officials and strongmen were forcing health workers to take samples of their relatives.
