Afghans and Pakistanis are not allowed to enter Iran because they have disease and could cause other problems, a senior Iranian official has said.
Hussain Qasemi, secretary of social and disciplinary committee of Iran’s national anti-coronavirus headquarters, said that Iran’s borders were under strict surveillance since around two months ago and were currently closed, Iranian Labour News Agency reported.
Iran has confirmed more than 80,000 coronavirus cases and oved 5,000 deaths attributed to it. Afghanistan has confirmed 933 cases and 30 deaths while Pakistan has 7,524 cases and 143 deaths.
The Iranian official’s remarks come as both Afghanistan and Pakistan reported that first coronavirus patients in their countries had arrived from Iran.
