An Afghan presidential guard was shot dead on the outskirts of capital Kabul last night, the Interior Ministry said on Saturday.
Qiamuddin Maqsoodi, a member of President Protective Service (PPS), was killed at 8:20p.m. in Paghman district, said Tariq Aryan, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.
Another presidential guard was wounded in the shooting, he said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
The Interior Ministry said that police were investigating the incident.
